How can I tell who is responsible for this wall?

How can I tell who is responsible for this wall?

Postby Broadback » Mon Nov 24, 2014 9:42 am

My property was built in 1960, I have the original deeds. There is no sign of either of the houses that are now adjacent to my property, apart from the usual poor "maps" the only mention of the boundaries is that they must be kept "stock proof". On the East side of my property is a retaining wall for some of its length, holding up the higher ground on my neighbours property. The wall is now in need of some TLC, who is,or how can I find out, responsible for this wall? If it collapses it will cause a mess, also it may well damage my detached garage which is near the wall.

Do your deeds state who owns what boundaries? Possibly T marks?
