Explosion of toads?

Postby twig » Sun Sep 11, 2005 2:03 am

The other night I went out to the front of my garage just after dusk and everywhere I looked there was movement. There were at least 8 or 10 toads of various sizes/ages hopping around there and as I walked around the corner to my neighbour's drive they were everywhere there too. Tonight I went outside to bring my cat in, again around dusk, and I noticed him staring at the heap of Russian Vine next door. It was twitching like it was alive - and it was - with toads. Is it just me or has there been a toad population explosion?
