Do I need to tell insurers I am going to remove a tree?

Hi there

This is my first post here and hope you can help or steer me in the right direction. I am about to purchase a flat that has a huge monkey puzzle tree in the front garden about 2 metres from the small house - it towers above the house and is pulling up the pavement.

There is no TPO nor in a conservation area, so I intend to remove it once I move in (the survey indicated it could cause damage to the structure of the building) using approved specialists.

Can you tell me - would I need to let my buildings insurers know of my intention? What if the removal causes any damage - would that still be covered?

Many thanks, Diana
