blue spruce - height reduction

Postby jdfi » Thu Oct 02, 2014 11:33 pm

Hello,

We have what I believe is a blue spruce tree that is approx 20 feet tall. Either side of it is a conifer hedge to approx 6 feet tall.

If we got a professional to lop the spruce from 20ft to 6ft is it likely to survive and thence grow as part of the hedge?

Or would it probably die?

I think the professional who is standing looking at it would be best qualified to answer that, although a photo would help.

Whatever happens the spruce is always going to have a different appearance and growth rate, if this matters you've got a decision to make.
