Bat Boxes

Has anyone got a bat box, and have you had any success? We really want to make a bat box as we have many bats flying around. I have heard it can be a bit hit and miss, but how wonderful if you get bats to nest! :)

my mum in law had bats in her attic, but they have died off.

Apparently there is a virus going round killing them off.

Geometer, thank you for that link. I will show it to my husband this evening, it will give him some more ideas. :)

I've never seen a bat, although I do have bats in the belfry. I hope you get some to nest and then you can take some photos.
Keep calm and carry on.

It would be so great if we do get bats in a box, even better if we could get a picture of one flying in or out. :)

We'll have to get round to making one first, we have so many jobs to do this year, it might be some time.

We had the council require we put a bat box inside our roof. We all thought we'd hear bats scrabbling around at night, but we haven't had a bat be seen or heard anywhere in the 5 years since! Maybe they are dying off?
