Responsibility for party fences

Responsibility for party fences

Postby GarageLand » Mon Sep 18, 2017 7:13 pm

Hi, I understand "party fences" to mean both parties responsible for fencing. The fence blew down last week. My neighbour's landlord says the previous owner of my property erected the fence and therefore it's my responsibility to have replaced. I have no way of knowing if that is true, as the previous owner of my property is deceased. The fence is also to the left of my property but is a party fence. I think that we should share the cost of replacement. Can anyone offer any insight? Thanks

Either one of you can do it. Neither of you can force the other to do it.
