Okay thanks everyone for your advice. I'll try to be ready to get an injunction. Meanwhile, I'm setting up CCTV.
Thanks again.
Rob.

Re: Roof boundary
Okay, thanks everybody. There is no planning application online, although neighbour is the kind to just do it and to hell with the consequences (he's stupid, basically). The consensus seems to be to call the police should his builders interfere with my property. Meanwhile, am I allowed to physically ...

Re: Roof boundary
Thanks for your suggestions. I think Building Control might be interested after its done when they have something to inspect, but I wonder whether a pre-emptive call might just elicit a response along the lines of "Sorry, we have no record of any building or proposed building at that address; we can...

Roof boundary
Sorry that this is another "not exactly GARDEN law" question but, as you guys are pretty au fait with legalities regarding boundaries, I hope somebody might be able to advise. My pitched roof (tiled) is connected to that of my neighbour at the boundary line. I understand he wants to raise his roof b...

Re: Cherry tree roots going under neighbours drive.
Playing Devil's Advocate, maybe he wants to get his land renovated in some way (as he has removed the conifers) and would just like to ensure that there is no root disturbance 2 or 3 years down the line? It might be cheaper to ensure any potential root problems are dealt with before damage occurs. W...

Re: Gardening according to the goddess of fertility & abunda
I read this last week and come back to it today because it really makes you think. I know it is meant to be whimsical but theres satire at almost every turn. Liked the ref to Soylent Green movie - chilled me to the bone when I saw it in the 70's.

Re: Parking and obstructions
Ah. I hadn't thought of
that!
The angry bang came and they had to wait for half an hour. And they know why they had to wait, so maybe they'll think twice in future (but I'm not banking on it).

Re: Parking and obstructions
They are at it again. Plenty of space to park in front of their own drive, but blocking mine instead when I came back from work. I didn't bother asking them to move, I just parked in front of their drive instead. Now waiting for an angry bang on the door, but they will have to wait as I'm having my ...

Re: Neighbour's quadcopter camera over my garden
I have seen this topic before, but I have only just read the second part. While I wouldn't want a drone invading my private space, Rosenbergs attitude is completely out of order. He came here for help. People have been helpful to him and all of a sudden he turns on them like they are the source of h...

Re: Squirrel damage to roof
To be fair to the OP, he/she hasn't said that they believe it's the LA's responsibility to prevent squirrels from getting into the roof. They just seem to be looking for a solution to the problem. We still don't know how far the branches are projecting into the OP's air space.

Re: Squirrel damage to roof
I'm no naturalist, but I'm surprised the squirrels eat lead flashing. You could always install a different sort of flashing. I once used aluminium - it is quite soft but I don't think it's as soft as lead. It's not as pliable either so is more awkward to work with (hence roofers tend to dislike it),...

Re: Parking and obstructions
Great minds think alike. I don't know enough people with work vans etc., but as I needed to have a skip on my driveway over Easter, and thus had to park on the road ... well you get the idea. They clearly don't like being inconvenienced themselves and were not happy when they have had to (rather gru...

You could try Savlon but I don't think it tastes too good.

Re: Parking and obstructions
Thanks for the replies everyone. Yes, I thought the H lines wouldn't be enforceable - but the fact that the exist at all at least reflects that fact that it is not considered to be good behaviour to block someone's drive. Mr Sheen. You say there is no suggestion of intent to stop me leaving, but I t...

Re: Parking and obstructions
Hello Mac and Mr Sheen, thanks for replying what’s your definition of “often” and “numerous”? Every week for the last 5 months. Random days and times. They have usually gone by about 10:30pm. you mention that you “usually” get an apology and that they do move the obstruction - so does this mean they...
