Re: Horse Chestnut

Your neighbour sounds indecisive but the horse chestnut sounds like it's just being a horse chestnut. Loads of diseases affecting them at the moment, some of which make it look like it's fast-forwarded to November but in July (leaf miner moth and/or leaf blotch). A bit more serious is bleeding canke...

Check out Google Streetview. Hopefully, there's been several years of drivebys which will be visible if you click the clock in the top left of the page.

Is the hedge protected by a soft landscaping condition / shown for retention on the site plan? If not, when you remove it you would probably be best employing the tree surgeon to grind out the stumps to 30cm depth, that way there's no danger of your neighbour's garden getting ripped up with the stum...

Re: Gigantic bamboo on property boundaries

No - you're wrong. Has anyone ever got successful recompense for this sort of issue? Not sure which way you are approaching this from, there is no law to prevent leaves and other natural debris from falling onto someone elses land. If you throw a mustard seed over the boundary, the law considers it...

Surely not "flytipping" - just a case of putting THEIR property back onto THEIR land.

Is there a way to access this without having to sign-in to something?
Its pretty much a summary of every phonecall you've ever had if you've worked in local authority.

Re: High Hedges Legislation

Hi, did they go as far as to investigate your high hedge complaint and issue a decision notice? If so, your appeal would be to the Planning Inspectorate, see here: https://www.gov.uk/appeal-high-hedges-decision. If not, then it sounds like it was not validated in which case they should explain the r...

Re: 6 Metre Beech Hedge Blocking Light

the written contract and plans are the only relevant info...whatever sales patter you were given is then irrelevant and you make it clear that with full knowledge that you don't own the hedge/trees, you choose to proceed and buy a property with a 6m high trees owned by a neighbour and over which yo...

Re: High Hedge Act - unusual case needs advice

It doesn't matter unless they all fund their separate complaints, the council validate them and the council issue remedial notices. This combination of events although possible, is unlikely. The stumbling blocks are either the lack of will to dip into their own pocket to pay for the complaint (non r...
