Re: Rodent issue

I used one through the council, but we paid for the service. He used bromadiolone bait in the loft. I think the ones from inside our loft have gone, its the problem with them being encouraged by this feeding regime, i have just come home looked out my kitchen window and seen three fair sized rats un...

Re: Rodent issue

To be honest no, they are about as much use as a chocolate teapot, the pest control guy called the E.H guy who has been dealing with us told him what he had seen and he said he would call me a bit later. No phone call. To be honest i don't think they can do much about it, i've already seen rats this...

Re: Rodent issue

Quick update, looks like we have got rid of the visitors in our loft. We are going to seal the bricks the previous owner knocked through. Had my final visit from pest control today, and next door decided to throw some food out while he was here, i think she thought it might be the E.H.O. Within 10 m...

Re: Rodent issue

Yes MacadamB53 We did have rodents in the house, but hopefully they have had the bait and got rid of those ones at least. I don't want to speak to soon on that though as i heard a noise in the kitchen last night in the boxing we have. But yes if the access point was closed off we wouldn't have any i...

Re: Rodent issue

I would just like to reiterate i do not expect someone to rectify the issue for me. We have taken steps in eradicating the problem, laying traps both snap and electronic ones, and as i have said when this failed to catch any rats in our loft, we called in E.H to deal with it. So far we haven't heard...

Re: Rodent issue

I just live here, i don't own it, but I have passed the information on to the homeowner. He has looked at getting the holes repaired in the loft on the party wall. He cannot do it himself for medical reasons. We will see though when the outside fault is repaired also, as to whether they got on that ...

Re: Rodent issue

Maybe i am not explaining myself properly, i do happen to be doing this on behalf of the person i live with. We have aired this issue with previous owner because obviously he is culpable for the "hole" in the first place, sadly we never realised prior to them moving that the hole was still there, up...

Re: Rodent issue

I am not being ungrateful for the advice. I am simply trying to give more information on the situation. But i take your comment on board coggy and on that basis will not post anymore. I wanted legal guidance/help on behalf of my friend who i live with, we have done what we can do to try to eliminate...

Re: Rodent issue

Its not a case of us doing it, i'm just saying that was her proposed method of getting rid of the problem, we personally don't share the same view on catching them the humane way as you say a quicker method was needed when traps failed, then we resorted to bait and enlisting the help of E.H I don't ...

Re: Rodent issue

Also re that she is trespassing with her traps, they are on our boundary not hers, but i'm not petty and haven't mentioned it. I assume these are the humane traps that you mention, are they baited and set?........who is checking them, by law, they must be checked every 24hrs. With the rat problem t...

Re: Rodent issue

I appreciate that, but this all comes down to we never attracted the pest in the first place. But like i said i'm not being petty like her, anyway she could send the letters by post!

Re: Rodent issue

The next door neighbours household consists of three adults, which we assume all viewed the property probably more than once before purchase, and considering the paid in excess of £400,000 you would think they would of had a survey carried out. You would also think that between 3 adults and possibly...

Re: Rodent issue

So what if you don't have the money then being retired etc, that is not likely to be cheap is it.

Anyway this is digressing now.

Re: Rodent issue

So we should basically have to pay for someone else's mistakes. Not that we blame the current neighbour, its the previous owner.
