Re: No boundary between neighbour's annexe and my garden

I get what you are saying about obscure glass idefixuk, but it only works to a certain extent.I had an elderly neighbour with a ground floor window, with no blind. the toilet was located in front of the window and when the light was on, i could see in as clear as if the window was not obscured at all...

Re: Lattis fence panels with teram added to them.

hi steakbake not stakebake as i previously put! It is a very strange thing to do to put the black membrane on the top.I do get what you are saying about how ugly it must look, I know you have said that they are unpleasant but you seem quite a reasonable person, would it not be possible to either talk...

Re: Lattis fence panels with teram added to them.

hi stakebake can I just ask how long in relation to your decking being installed did they put up the trellis. if I get what you have said previously they were happy for a long time with the height before, has anything changed in the way you use your garden, for example a trampoline or you using the a...

Re: Maximun fence height with neighbours raised patio

glad you like the idea kitkat. I have had no problem with the bamboo escaping,i have used thick decking and lined it with thick plastic, making sure plenty of drainage holes. I also raised the planters on little blocks of wood so I can sweep underneath, check for any escaping rhizomes and avoid mouse...

Re: Maximun fence height with neighbours raised patio

if its a free standing structure you can go to 2.5 meters in height if within 2 meters of the boundary. so when the enforcement officer came to my house he had no problem with my screen. I made two planters out of decking and put some bamboo in them, made a wooden frame with trellising at the back a...

Re: Roof boundary

the funny thing about any dispute with your neighbour is that your mind runs away with you. you try to second guess what is going on and the smallest thing like moving a wheelie bin can be analysed to abstraction. After my neighbour threatened us with the police for blocking the gate he put in our f...

Re: Social housing tennant replaced our fence and damaged shrubs and land

thats actually a really good response from HA, hope it has helped make you and your dad feel a bit better about the situation, all it takes in so many boundary problems is for people to behave in a decent way. puts a bit of faith back.

Re: Social housing tennant replaced our fence and damaged shrubs and land

please take into account there are posters on this forum who seem to enjoy being overly direct to people who come here because they are upset, and seem to actively encourage distress unnecessarily. please read other posts and you will understand. which is a shame as they are very knowledgeable. you ...

Re: shed too close

thats why i suggested a thin planter with bamboo. when i lived in my last house, a tiny terrace, I had to laugh when the council kept giving us more and more bins. i could fit 2 small bins and one chair in my yard, had to keep my bin lids clean, as it was the only place I could put my brew(tea) when...

Re: shed too close

hi jayjay sorry you have not had the response you hoped for, but i dont think there is anything legal you can do about the shed, if a fence can be 6ft then a free standing wooden structure can be. I know some posters can be a little direct in their delivery at times (direct posters dont be mad at me...

Re: Anti cat fencing.

a friend of mine who was at her whits end with the amount of cats, pooping, digging up pants and killing her ducklings put carpet grippers on her fence (after trying just about everything else) she was reported by next door neighbour with 4 cats! got a visit from PSPCA and had to remove it or face an...

collaborate wrote This is a message to Admin. Is there any chance this thread can be locked? It's deviated so far from its original purpose it now seems to be the equivalent of two drunks squaring up to each other outside a pub, neither wanting to "leave it" and neither letting it die a natural deat...

the only reason I would not want you as a neighbour is because you are coming across as rather unhinged.
