Re: Neighbour objecting over my ROW
To aid NON eye contact it is well worth wearing a pair of sunglasses - they can't see where you are looking Worked for me when I needed to ignore our nasty neighbouring couple a good few year go - they actually complained to the police about it - the PCSO quietly pointed out to them that there is no...

Re: Problem with rear fence
Additional to Mac's post above - Your mother is not responsible for a wild animal (fox or other) digging holes under the fence - nor it pooping on the neighbour's grass It is also the responsibility of the neighbour to retain their dog in their own garden - it most certainly NOT you mother's respons...

Re: Lowering a garden
Oddly enough I saw a possible solution on TV the other week (surfing my cable channels!) - similar garden as you describe and with young children They had excavated back a small part of the retaining wall (about 4.5 foot wide) and used the excavated soil to make a slope down to the patio - then they...

Re: Neighbour attaching plant ties & washing line to fencing
It is her fence and she CAN say that nothing is attached to it - unfortunately ignoring requests and continuing to attach things is something that often happens between neighbours Attached plants can damage fencing - for example, an uncontrolled rambling rose on wires pulled a neighbour's fence pane...

Re: Leylandii High Hedges on Boundary
In my limited experience of trimming hedges, conifers like Leylandii can only be maintained at their current level. New foliage grows at the very edges of the plant. If you lop off say 3 metres it likely won't regrow a nice green top. You may see examples around, I do. It's all or nothing I think, ...

Re: Drainage from garden into garden below
To have some idea of what the problem is, it would help if we knew -
Has the complaining neighbour recently moved into his property?
Or are you the 'new' neighbour?
If not is this draining water a new problem?
Has anyone else in the area problems with unwanted water flow?

Re: My Views
..........................What's upsetting me is that they have gone about it in a sneaky way. When they were viewing the house we explained the low fence and the views, and they didn't have the decency to explain what their plans were. ..................... I suspect that when your neighbours were...

Re: Gravel spreading on pavement caused fall
Aah - 'bags' - the plastic sort you store food in in a freezer - don't actually hold a lot each
Can see how the description 'bags' can be misleading
They have gone this morning - though I am told no-one saw when it happened

Re: Gravel spreading on pavement caused fall
Mojisola - they have been told about the others who have fallen, but not in writing until today's note - but they did nothing about the gravel those times Their next door neighbour has swept up all the loose gravel from the pavement and stacked it in bags right in the middle of the drive - I think h...

Re: Gravel spreading on pavement caused fall
Woke this morning rather stiff and sore - but a long hot soak has helped ease the joints and muscles - my thanks for the sympathy, folks To answer MacadamB53 - The gravel was laid about five months ago and now the entire pavement is covered by the gravel, right into the gutters, to avoid walking on ...

Gravel spreading on pavement caused fall
While walking down my street this morning I took a nasty fall when I stood on a pebble/gravel from a driveway and it rolled under my foot causing me to fall heavily on my right side The fall knocked all the breath out of me and a neighbour opposite came flying out of her house to help me - she is a ...

Re: Would Really Appreciate Advice on Right of Way & Extensi
...........both of the other neighbours are moving - one imminently in a couple of weeks; one has their house on the market - although, as far as I know, that has nothing to do with the proposed extension by neighbour 1. ..................
