If the fence belongs to the OP then the ivy is illegally growing up the OPs fence so the OP has every right to require the ivys removal and if a request to the ivy grower to remove it is ignored then the OP s only options are to remove the fence and detach the ivy ... that would make the point prett...

Check libraries .local societies, google earh there is likeky to be arial photos back in the day to prove your point but yes i would install a fence slam up tight to boundary with concrete posts

The only real way to eradicate Ivy is to completly dig it out ....sadly if your neighbour adores ivy you have zero chance ...thus the only avenue open when ut appears through your fence having reeked havoc on the other side is to remive the fence or spray with glyphosate ....i hate both with a passion

Arborlad always takes great delight in having a pop at me ....the simple truth to the posters dilema of ivy coming through their fence when ivy growing neighbour wont act is to spray the offending shoots with glyphosate ....theres no other answer if the neighbour wont co operate ...if it takes more ...

I guess i would urgently start thinking how i can protect my land and boundary Like digging a very deep trench along your boundary lining it with pond liner and backfilling But it seems totally wrong that they have been warned to sort it and ignore it expecting others to put up with the problems ens...

If it coming through the fence spray it with glyphosate that will kill it down to the roots

I thought EH had a legal duty to sort this sort of thing ...is there any way you can simply completely block their pipe feeding the septic tank seems to me thats the only way to escalate matters or does thst put you in bigger do do ?

Its dead easy and cheap to simply fit a Chubb barrel window lock ...works from both sides ...keys are cheap and theres only a small round hole on either side
