Re: Shared Drive Parking Issue

You need the services of a wheel clamping company. Google "wheel clamping services" to find a local one. They won't charge you anything. They'll give you a notice you can put up that can be seen from your drive. When you get someone who parks there, you ring them up and they'll come along, clamp it ...

Re: access ro

The purchasers' solicitors must have been unbelievably incompetent if they have allowed their clients to purchase properties without legal means of access. So Rabbyc should not feel too disappointed if the windfall doesn't happen. But hey ho you never know, it might be a bad day for some conveyancer...

Re: Eucalyptus Trees

since you live next door to one might be helpful if you list all the problems they cause so we can refer to it in future questions on the subject If you google "Eucalyptus tree problems" you'll get over 3,000,000 references. But in short, they shed leaves throughout the year, not just in the Autumn...

Re: Eucalyptus Trees

one of the trees we were considering was Eucalyptus. I'm sure I've seen reference on here to Eucalyptus trees causing problems with neighbours and I wander what is meant? If you really hate your neighbour, then a Eucalyptus tree is for you. I've lived with one next door; they make Leylandii appear ...

If you don't know who is responsible, then that is the answer.

Re: Is my tree causing neighbour subsidance?

It seem that Lynn is not concerned about the loss of the tree and is happy to maintain good neighbourly relations by removing it. There is no expert report to show that the tree is causing the problem, so with that doubt perhaps Lynn should negotiate for the neighbour to pay half the cost. That woul...

Re: 3D Glasses

I watched Giselle in 3D. I wore the 3D specs over my own specs without any problems.

A ballet is much better in 3D than ordinary 2D.

Re: Can you use a tape measure?

The problem in this case is that whatever the agreed points to start from and how long the dimension, the result of a new stake being hammered in the ground is ending up being several metres away. A starting point and a length only describe a circle and cannot by themselves determine a point. You n...

Re: Can you use a tape measure?

If you did the same measurement repeatedly, based on whatever choice of HOW to measure from point A to point B - over a distance of say 20m how much margin of error would you allow yourself? Well, with a free choice of measurement system I'll choose a GPS receiver¹ with Real Time Kinematic position...

Re: Next door's wall is cracking badly, what can I do?

If their house goes up for sale, you are well entitled to approach the estate agent and inform them that there is an ongoing dispute and that they are obliged to inform potential purchasers . The estate agent may ask the vendor about the dispute; the vendor will then say "It's not my wall so I have...

Re: Can you use a tape measure?

Impossible? Because of the lie of your land? Surely there is a degree of accuracy here too. Let's say it's 10m between the posts, do you think you would be out by over 10% when you did it repeatedly? You are missing the point; it is not a matter of accuracy, it's the definition of what's meant by t...

Re: Can you use a tape measure?

If somebody asked you to measure out the length of your plot, from the roadside to the fence or other boundary feature at the back - do you think you could do it and make a decent job? Quite impossible. The length of my garden varies according to the length of my ruler and what I want to use the me...

Re: Feeling blue ... tell me your own best-ever joke, please

This ethnic joke might be a bit strong, but I'll let the moderator sort it if necessary. A dark-skinned lady was flying with her son with a small airline. Some time after departure, the captain came on the intercom to say that the plane was losing height and the baggage would have to be dumped for t...
