Re: Section 62 LPA

Does this business of the clock not starting until the trespass comes to the landowner's attention also apply to adverse possession?

I'm thinking of a scenario where somone might excavate into a thick hedge to position their shed. The adjoining neighbour has no way of knowing this has happened.

Re: neighbours hedge height

If the hedge become a problem to you due to it's height you can try to get your neighbour to reduce it. Failing an agreement your local council will have a procedure to help enforce a reasonable height - but you'll need to pay for the council's service (£500 round here).

Re: Fencing ripped down and boundry as been stolen!

Or treat the fence as my own. and allow the neighbours to keep 11 inches of next door's garden? How about sending written notice that the fence is on your land and giving a deadline for it's removal? Obviously they won't move it, but at least you have something in writing and look more reasonable. ...

Re: Neighbours lean to greenhouse

The owner commented, with a smile, no worries, i'll just disconnect it, it can stay where it is, as it is on a good foundation. It wasn't really the builders job to start instructing folk .. he is only giving me an estimate, but the fact that the owner seems to think his lean to can stay there worr...

Re: neighbour dispute over siting of oil tank

Hi! No legal expert but I have been at a Land Registry Court hearing and through the legal process. Yes, after 12 years you are probably entitled to the land if it was not on the original deeds. However, you actually have to apply for it (adverse possession) and give proof of uninterrupted use, acc...

Re: Potential boundary disput

Are you sure that's true? If your neighbour puts something on your property can't you simply remove it? Why would it be subject to having to take legal action about it? This seems the reverse of my situation in which a neighbour has verbally claimed he owns the hedge which is definitely on our side ...

Re: HELP! I am SO frustrated...Cats ruining my property.

I know it's weird, but my mother tried a tip she'd heard and it worked... Get some large plastic bottles (the type you buy pop or spring water in) and fill them with water and leave them on their side in the area the cats use. Then the cats go somewhere else. I don't know why this works. Perhaps mos...

At the bottom of our garden...

At the bottom of our garden there's a shed and a hedge. Behind the shed is a low wall with a fence on top. Behind that is the pavement of the road behind our house. There used to be a gate but that's nailed up and the shed sits on the path in front of it. There's no question that we own the wall and...
