It interesting that you should ask because I just happen to know the answer to your question....... Unfortunately, The Ultimate Question itself is unknown. ....much like the original one from the OP here I would suggest ! When asked to produce The Ultimate Question, the computer said that it could n...

There are of course lots of NFH who want to impose their willow trees and their perception of the ideal garden on their neighbours.

You sound like one of them.....you aren't an NFH are you ?

Apparantly some of the regular posters here don't like them very much. :shock:

Its perfectly clear to me that this is a trick question and the answer is 42. Or if answered by Despair = b*****ks 42. The Answer to this Ultimate Question comes from the supercomputer, Deep Thought, specially built for this purpose. It took Deep Thought 7½ million years to compute and check the ans...

I didn't know those sorts of words were allowed on this site. Used in that context in say, a film, one would describe them as gratuitous. :shock: OK, so gratuitious bad language IS acceptable provided we put little exclamation marks for some of the letters or leave spaces. :oops: Watch this space......

I believe the number of badger kills remains the same (statistically) this year compared to the last few years. Whats changed are:
* More vehicles/ more traffic.
* Faster moving vehicles.
* Larger vehicles
* Changing work patterns/ more shift work.
* Less road sweeping/ cleaning.

He came and asked me if there was something I could do so, I agreed to cut the hedge back from the pavement by 1 metre........it has helped apparantly. Now h...

I find trip wires, some hidden devices and surveillance equipment works well. A few signs with : 'Trespassers will be shot, any Survivers will be shot again' pined up around the estate also deters the opportunist. These together with a reputation for not taking prisoners will usually deter all but t...

I'd like to volunteer......I'm always VERY expensive. I take pride in ensuring that my charges are the absolute tops that I can charge and get away with in order to maximise my profit. Doing that is no more or less than could be expected. Underpricing goods or services is only eating away at my chil...

There's always green.

I think almost every material used in garden furniture has at least one disadvantage.

Teak ages quite quickly
Steel rusts
White marks easily
Aluminium oxidises
Timber requires lots of maintenance
etc etc

I've got a teak table and chairs in the garden. Had it about 6 years. I apply teak oil at the beginning of spring (now) and again at end of summer (usually Sept) every year. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. Its got no fungus, isn't black, looks great and the oil waterproofs it. Of course you do need to apply th...
