training seagulls

Post by liveinpeace » Thu Nov 15, 2018 8:44 am

the lady across from me, feeds the seagulls at stupid oclock every morning. its impossible to be mad at her as shes a 4ft nothing, deaf as a post, 80 plus VAT, twinkly eyed wicked humored Irish lady. though in the middle of summer at 4.15 when they are screeching their heads off, lying awake It can be somewhat irksome.

recently a group of crows have been turning up and attacking the seagulls and then eating the food.

i thought seagulls and crows would be a fair match for each other, but the seagulls just back off.

so now the seagulls have worked out its their calling that is alerting the crows and they are arriving in absolute silence every morning for the food.

i have been fascinated watching this and have been most grateful for the crows training the seagulls to be quiet.
