Boundaries defined by agreement

A property owner has another house built on his own garden, approves the plans personally, lives next door while the house is being built, plays a significant role in the building himself and never makes any attempt to get the position of the boundaries altered.

Would I be correct in thinking that any boundaries of that property must necessarily be the legal boundaries by consent and any discrepancy between the actual boundary position and that shown on the plans would have no relevance whatever?
