Our apologies for gardenlaw being down today. There was an outage on on the hosting platform and there was nothing we could do about it.

Looks like the database on the server was down, Arborlad. I'm also having intermittent problems, but it hasn't logged me out yet.

www.gardenlaw.co.uk refused to connect.
Check your internet connection.

Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server...

Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server:

Up until recently, there seemed to be a 'rule of thumb' that if you were 'inactive' for around an hour you got logged out, this was completely wrong but most seemed aware of it and accepted it! Since around 6am today I have had to login around five or six times :roll: I've lost count and can't be bothered timing it!!

A very annoying side effect of being logged out is that something seems to be reset and whatever new posts were there first thing - just disappear..........

having closely monitored for many months how frequently my sign-on has been required I am of the opinion - wrong though you say I am - that it resets after 1hr of inactivity.

the above relates to a local issue - your setup, arborlad, not gardenlaw.
were you able to use the internet at all?
